Join our Sommeliers for an informal wine tasting. Topics are different weekly and three great wines are selected, whether it’s a Cabernet 101 or what’s happening in the Rhone. There will always be a great wine discussion and tasting! A perfect opportunity to discuss with the sommelier what wine you should bring to your next event!

Led by one of our Chefs, this interactive cooking demonstration changes weekly and is largely based on participant interaction in designing the dishes to be created. The Chef will lead the group through the preparation of a plate and discuss what flavors compliment each other. This is a great opportunity to ask what the chef’s secrets are to preparing one of the menu items that you tried last night for dinner. A sampling is provided at the end of the lesson.

Join our Head or Lead Gardener for an informal tour of the gardens and enjoy an educational journey about the history and outdoor elements that help make Langdon Hall so unique. A perfect opportunity to learn about the property flora and fauna, landscaping design and even about our honey bees!

A morning or afternoon at the Spa can be arranged as a meeting break. A variety of treatments are available allowing up to 10 treatments at the same time. This activity if scheduled as a group break is ideal for meetings of less than 15 people. A larger group may have to arrive at different times. Additional Cost.
The outdoor heated salt water pool is open from dawn to dusk from mid-May to mid-October. The pool and lounge area is available to overnight guests. Refreshments and a light menu is available at the pool area on sunny days.
A great way to introduce meeting participants to each other is through informal activities. A game of croquet during a cocktail reception is a wonderful mixer. We can arrange a Jazz trio to provide entertainment while the game is played. Available May until Late September.
Offers a range of cardio-vascular machines as well as free-weight equipment. A personal trainer can be arranged. As a relaxation exercise, a yoga instructor can provide instruction. To reserve a lesson with a personal trainer or yoga instructor, additional fees apply.
Throughout the property there are 12 kilometers of woodland trails to explore on foot or by bike. For our guests to use, mountain bikes (4) are available to discover the trails. Trail maps can be found in each of the guest rooms or at the reception desk.
Discover the ancient and noble art of archery. Our nationally certified coaches will come on-site to Langdon Hall and take you through the rudiments and principles of bowmanship and have you hitting the bull’s-eye in no time.
Continuous activity – usually 60 to 90 minutes, each participant will shoot every second round — so half the group is waiting half of the shooting time.

For larger groups, we can arrange “Drop In” shooting – shooting opportunity is available for participants to “drop in” and try shooting a few arrows . — 2 to 3 hour opportunity to shoot, but participants “drop in and out ” for a few shots. They can “drop in” multiple times depending on the demand of the group.

Meet one of our Chefs who will share their passion of cooking, cooking at Langdon Hall and using the vegetable garden as ingredients. A dish will be prepared and shared with the group. Participate in the weekly complimentary cooking demonstration which takes place at 10:30a.m. on Sunday mornings.
Our Sommeliers love to chat about wines and meet guests on Saturdays at 4:00p.m. to share their knowledge and provide some samples of their favourite selections.
For groups of 8 or more- An hour tasting and discussion can be arranged highlighting specific wine regions. This is an ideal activity to plan just before dinner instead of a cocktail reception. If you would like an evening activity, why not select an after dinner port tasting. Additional costs between $55.00- $65.00 per person.
Langdon Hall has the most impressive garden. Vegetables abound under the close eye of our Head Gardener. Stroll through the garden or participate in the complimentary tour on Saturdays at 10:30a.m. (ends October 1st). For groups of 8 or more we would be pleased to arrange a private garden tour. You and your guests will have an informative and fun afternoon under the sun. Additional costs apply.

Traveling distance to St. Jacob’s is less than 35 kilometers or 20 minutes.

We have many choices for a two hour, 5 km, walk in the area of Langdon Hall. Langdon guest favourite- is a pleasant walk in the Bannister Lake, F.W.R. Dickson Wilderness Area. The trail features a waterfowl viewing tour, a Carolinian hardwood forest, chickadees that will eat from our hand and a tall grass prairie. The pace is moderate and designed to explore a bit of this special part of Ontario. The trail is good and a pair of walking shoes will be about all you will need. The guide, Greg Vincent, is a long time hike leader for the Bruce Trail and Grand Valley Trails Associations and the U.S. Sierra Club.
